Colorful mural in Guatemala

Students of The Opal House School in Guatemala celebrate a vibrant new addition to their school: a mural created with the help of Lindsey Bailey, BFA ’08, pictured bottom right, along with other members of the community. In partnership with the Nashville-based nonprofit Athentikos, Bailey traveled to Central America as part of Creative Impact Guatemala to help facilitate creative projects and support community-led development through the arts. For more than 25 years, Bailey has taught, exhibited, and presented internationally, using visual arts as a catalyst for engagement and a tool for cultural exchange. She currently serves as a visual arts educator at the International Community School of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and is developing an artist residency in northern Portugal.
