Howard Jacobs, BBA ’56, proves it’s never too late to take the plunge, as the 92-year-old former UT intramural Sportsmanship Man of the Year experienced the “thrill of a lifetime” jumping out of a perfectly good airplane high above rural New Jersey. “Howie” to his pals, Jacobs says his UT education prepared him well for a successful career in the retail packaging industry in and around New York City. Now retired in New Jersey, he keeps fit with weekly water volleyball games, long walks in the hills, and serving as the patriarch of a family that includes his six children, fourteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
