UT’s Pi Kappa Alpha Chapter Recognized at International Pike Conference
Members of the UT Austin Beta Mu chapter delegation put their horns up while attending The Academy, a bi-annual leadership training for undergraduates hosted by the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity in Memphis. Pictured are chapter president Zack Wagner, Angus Brooks, and Matt Stewart, who joined more than 500 other undergraduate Pikes from around the U.S. and Canada.
The Beta Mu chapter received numerous recognition awards at the conference, including the Raymond L. Orians Excellence Award for the fourth successive year, granted to the top 20 percent of chapters for excellent overall operations. The chapter also received the Scholarship Award, recognizing an overall GPA of 3.2 for the 8th successive year, as well as the Recruitment Level 2 Award. The alumni advisory board was named Alumni Board of the Year for the fourth successive year, an honor granted to fewer than eight percent of chapters.
In July 2018, Pi K A will host its 150th Anniversary Convention in Richmond, Virginia, to honor the fraternity’s founding at the University of Virginia.
