Jackson Jeffcoat Named National D-Lineman of the Week
Some silver lining from the Horns’ latest loss: The inexhaustible Jackson Jeffcoat has been named the National Defensive Lineman of the Week after his performance against Kansas State Saturday.
The sophomore defensive end tallied four tackles for loss in the game against the Wildcats to give him 16 on the season. He now has 12 tackles for losses in the last four games, with five sacks and 35 tackles over that span. He finished the game with eight tackles (three solo), one sack, four TFL, one PBU, and two quarterback pressures.
For the season, Jeffcoat has 57 tackles (28 solo), 16 TFL, five sacks, three pass break ups, and eight quarterback pressures.
This is the third time this season Jeffcoat has been selected for College Football Performance Awards honors.
Junior defensive end Alex Okafor was selected as Honorable Mention Defensive Lineman of the Week, and senior kicker Justin Tucker was selected as Honorable Mention Kickoff Specialist of the Week.
