Inaugural Festival in Austin Celebrates Deaf Authors

The inaugural Deaf Authors Book Festival was held in May 2022 at the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin. Produced and co-hosted by Steve Baldwin, PhD ’89, Life Member, the two-day event gathered 25 diverse authors from across the U.S. for panel discussions, book signings, and more. Baldwin was a teacher at TSD from 1990-2008 and is president of the Deaf Television Foundation, which helped produce the festival.
