College Football is Over, So Let’s Talk About College Football Rumors
The college football season has been over for less than 24 hours, and already, the Texas QB transfer talk has begun. Earlier today, Florida State quarterback and future first-rounder Jameis Winston posted the picture above of himself with University of Houston QB John O’Korn, with the following caption:
Not only was O’Korn benched earlier in the season, but Houston will also have a new head coach next season, former Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman. All signs point to O’Korn looking for a more pro-style offense, and it’s rumored he is looking at Texas and Florida. It appears Winston has some inside info on O’Korn’s future destination via some connection to mega-church pastor Joel Osteen, which is … odd. Maybe Jameis made a pilgrimage to Houston’s stadium-sized Lakewood Church after FSU’s demoralizing loss to Oregon in the College Football Playoff?
An even more tenuous rumor started when TCU blog Frogs O’ War tweeted this picture of injured Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett throwing up either the Hook ’em or heavy metal sign after the Buckeyes won the College Football Playoff last night. The tweet read: “/starts J.T. Barrett to Texas rumor.” It seems former third-string sophomore Cardale Jones has won the starting job at Ohio State, leading to Texas transfer rumors now for both Barrett and fellow Buckeye QB Braxton Miller, who has already graduated and can play immediately after a transfer with a year of eligibility remaining.
No matter what happens, this is surefire bulletin-board material for embattled Texas QB Tyrone Swoopes.
