Leslie Cedar Named New Executive Director, CEO Of The Texas Exes
It’s official: we at the Texas Exes have a new boss.
Leslie Cedar, BS ’89, MBA ’98, Life Member, a Silicon Valley executive, has been named the sixth executive director in the Ex-Students’ Association 126-year history. She is the first female to hold the position.
Cedar was chosen from a national search conducted by past presidents and the president-elect of the Association and led by current president Richard Leshin. She replaces Jim Boon, who retired last year to lead the Texas Exes Scholarship Foundation and raise money for the new Forty Acres Scholars program.
“The committee feels confident that Leslie will best continue the strong leadership of the Texas Exes, exemplified by Jim Boon and his predecessors,” Leshin says. “We look forward to seeing Leslie implement her vision for the Association.”
Cedar has most recently served as senior vice president of strategic alliances for Rearden Commerce, an e-commerce company based in Silicon Valley. She has more than 13 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development, account management, and services in consulting and software firms.
An avid runner, Cedar has completed more than a dozen marathons and has three kids. She lives in Austin with her family and enjoys water skiing and watching UT sports.
Cedar starts at the Texas Exes July 1.
