Baseball Countdown: Clemens Opens Alumni Game [Watch]
The Super Bowl is nearly behind us, the air feels like spring, and we’ve got our baseball countdown going: 18 days. On Feb. 17, the Longhorns will open their season in a three-game series against the Duke Blue Devils.
In the meantime, we got to whet our appetite over the weekend at the annual Alumni Game. UT has sent 101 former player to the Major Leagues, so there are plenty of alumni to participate. And guess who started off the first inning on the mound? None other than former Longhorn Roger Clemens.
Whatever you think of the potential Hall of Famer, you have to admire this photo of the retired star, now 49—and the fact that he struck out two current members of the Longhorn team.
See you soon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
