Longhorns Launch Into Volleyball Regionals Tonight

A huge weekend is ahead for Texas volleyball as a hard-hitting team takes its stuff to the NCAA Regionals.

At stake, of course, are the postseason prospects for a team that only narrowly lost last year’s national championship to an exceptional Penn State team and has been ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association Top 25 for 109 consecutive weeks.

This year’s Longhorn squad is loaded with talent thanks to masterful recruiter Jerritt Elliott, who was named Co-Big 12 Coach of the Year. Senior All-American Juliann Faucette leads the team’s individual honors as Big 12 Player of the Year.

Texas faces Illinois tonight at 7 p.m. right here at Gregory Gym. If the Longhorns beat the Illini, they’ll face off Saturday at 8 p.m. against Florida or Purdue, again with home-court advantage. The games will also be shown on ESPNU.

The Horns are on a 17-match winning streak, so come out, cheer, and help them keep it going. Buy tickets in advance here.
