Garrett Gilbert Chooses SMU

This may be the last we write you with news of Garett Gilbert.

The former starting quarterback—who this season alone has faced everything from shoulder surgery to being booed by a home crowd—is transferring. And he’s just revealed his destination: SMU.

Gilbert will leave UT in January, with plans to play football for his new school when he becomes eligible in 2013.

It was a heart-rending run at Texas. But we wish him all the luck in the world.
