Forty Acres Scholars Watch the Game with Red McCombs

The Forty Acres Scholars had a great view of Saturday’s football game. They watched it from Red McCombs’ private box.

“One of our goals with the Forty Acres Scholars Program is to provide a unique experience for our scholars,” says Derrick Miller, Texas Exes scholarship director.

That means personal touches like this one, as well as group outings and mentorship.

“Red McCombs’ Longhorn spirit was contagious,” says scholar Ashley Chang.

“Within moments he treated me as if I was one of the family, introducing me to his wife, daughter, granddaughter and grandson,” says scholar Anne Alexander.
