Pledge Your Burnt-Orange Allegiance

ESPN has thrown down the gauntlet with its first-ever “Pledge Your Allegiance for College Colors Day” spirit competition. Because the Longhorn nation bleeds burnt orange, The University of Texas at Austin has thrown itself into the fray for a chance to win the College Colors Day Spirit Cup and $10,000 toward the general scholarship fund.

This all-out online brawl for bragging rights is presented by the Collegiate Licensing Company and includes 165 participating colleges and universities, all vying to show they have the most loyal fans. Voting is open the entire month of August leading up to this year’s College Colors Day, an annual celebration that encourages fans to wear their favorite college or university apparel, on Aug. 31.

Every Longhorn fan who submits his or her pledge of allegiance to UT is entered to win weekly $50 gift cards from the ESPN Shop, as well as one of two grand prizes—one of which is a $500 college shopping spree at ESPN Shop. Standings in the competition will be tracked both nationally and by conference.
