New High-Rise Coming to West Campus

West Campus is about to get a lot bigger.

Construction will begin soon on a new 16-story apartment building at 2400 Nueces St., the former site of UT’s Wooldridge Hall.

The $69 million building, set for completion by the summer of 2013, will house student apartments, UT’s International Office, retail space, and more than 500 parking spaces.

The building will aim for a LEED Silver sustainability certification, a spokesperson for developer Education Realty Trust said.
