Sisters Transform Historic McKinney Cotton Mill into the MillHouse

Courtesy of two Longhorn sisters, a large portion of the historic McKinney Cotton Mill has been transformed into MillHouse McKinney—a shared workspace that hosts businesses, art festivals, and makers markets. Aimee Wooverton, BA ’90, initially ran her photography studio out of the former mill when her sister, Beth Beck, BA ’79, MPAff  ’85, Life Member, was given the keys to a section of the 200,000-square-foot facility that was untouched since the 1960s. The converted space now features five suites and dozens of studios for art, photography, and entrepreneurship. Their nonprofit MillHouse Foundation hosts the frequent events, including quarterly exhibits at the new Atrium Gallery.
