40-Year Reunion of Air Force ROTC Includes Two- and Three-Star Generals

The 40th reunion of UT Air Force ROTC alumni kicked off on a Friday night at the Oasis Brewery Barrel Room in Austin. Longhorn alums ranging from the classes of 1982–86 were joined by their former professor of aerospace studies, Retired Col. Larry Smulczenski (pictured center), who got to witness how many of his young cadets turned out. The class includes 3-Star Retired Lt. Gen. Robert McMurry, BS ’84, (pictured back) and 2-Star Retired Maj. Gen. Ken Wisian, BA ’82, Life Members. The event was followed by Saturday morning's annual Veterans’ Tailgate, with a post-game dinner at Dirty Martin’s.
