Laredo Exes Celebrate Washington’s Birthday at Annual WBCA Parade

The annual celebration of George Washington’s birthday is a Laredo tradition that dates back more than 100 years. Joining the party, and the WBCA parade, in 2024 for the first time was the Texas Exes Laredo Chapter.

“Since it was our first time in the parade, we did experience a learning curve, but it helped we had some parade builders, architects, and passionate individuals in our parade committee,” says president-elect of the chapter, Brenda Rojo-Buendia, BBA ’10, Life Member. “It took a good amount of planning and organizing, but our awesome committee members helped make our vision a reality, not to mention some amazing sponsors who supported us in various ways.”
