Master Pole Vaulter Celebrates a Century

Keith Verdon Tompkins, BS ’57, celebrates his 100th birthday on Feb. 11, 2024. Tompkins was a member of the UT track team and a master pole vaulter who helped Texas win the Southwest Conference in 1950. He also participated in Senior Olympics from ages 70–87 and, in 2023, celebrated his 75th anniversary with his wife. He has nine children, 22 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
