Longtime Longhorn Celebrates 60 Years
Ken Capps, BJ ’82, Life Member, celebrated turning 60 on Aug. 31. Pictured above, Capps hooks ’em at the Great Pyramids in a photo that appeared in a 1987 issue of the Alcalde as well as on his Christmas card that year. Carrie Glasser, BJ ’82, snapped the photo while they worked together as journalists overseas.
Since that photo was taken, Capps has been a 35-year member of the Texas Exes Dallas Chapter, a board member for more than 15 years, and president of the Dallas Texas Exes and chairman emeritus of the Get Teed Off at OU Golf Classic.
He now serves as a member of the UT Libraries Council, the advisory council for the Center for Sports Communication and Media, and as a board member of the Neighborhood Longhorns Program.
