Longhorn Stands Taller Than Anyone in Lower 48
On the last day of July, Edward Torres, BS ’67, Life Member, stood higher than any other person in the lower 48 states. He spent the day climbing to the top of Mount Whitney, a mountain in California whose peak towers at 14,505 feet, and back down to the base.
“The hike was at least 22 miles round trip and was a bit arduous because of the pace, distance, steepness, and diminished oxygen with each step up,” Torres says.
