Horns Up While Training for Kilimanjaro
Alanna Iverson, BA ’13, hooked ’em while hiking in California last weekend. Iverson is training to hike Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania for the Survivor Summit, a Livestrong Foundation fundraiser.
Iverson, who volunteers as a Livestrong Leader, is shooting to raise $10,000 for the foundation in time for the Kilimanjaro hike next January. Anyone who donates at least $50 to her efforts can suggest a challenge for her to try in the name of fighting cancer. “So far I’ve eaten 6 saltine crackers in 60 seconds (not as easy as it sounds), dumped a few buckets of ice water on my head and, my personal favorite, a music video to Taylor Swift’s ’22,'” she says.
