Kevin Durant to Start in NBA All-Star Game (Again)

For the fourth time, former Longhorn basketball phenom Kevin Durant has been selected for the NBA All-Star Game. He’ll also be starting in the game for his third straight year.

Durant, who is currently averaging 28.7 points and 7.5 rebounds in 39.2 minutes per game with the Oklahoma City Thunder, also helped lead Team USA to victory in the 2012 Summer Olympics. He follows Slater Martin, who died in October at age 86, as only the second Longhorn to start in the All-Star Game.

“Thank you thank you thank you thank you for voting me into my 4th all star game … such a blessing,” Durant tweeted yesterday when he got the news.

Off the court, Durant is a fun-loving guy with a lot of school spirit. He once used Twitter to start an impromptu flag football game with some college students; he also drives a burnt-orange car emblazoned with a giant Longhorn logo.
