D.C. Exes Celebrate Students, Tour the National Archives
Texas Exes chapter events aren’t all gamewatches and happy hours. How about behind-the-scenes access to our national archives?
That’s what the Texas Exes D.C. Chapter got on April 15, when they enjoyed a private tour of the National Archives. The chapter held a reception to celebrate D.C.-area students admitted to UT.
About 100 people mingled at the event, feasting on Texas-style barbecue. Several well-known alumni were in attendance, including Royce Lamberth, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and Paul Begala, political strategist, author, and CNN contributor.
Dean Paul Woodruff of the School of Undergraduate Studies was the event’s featured speaker and answered questions about UT and its many opportunities for undergraduates.
Speaking on behalf of the chapter’s board, alum Jeff Tsai says, “The University of Texas is a world-class institution because of the quality of its students, and out-of-state students are a big part of ensuring this continued high quality.”
