Alcalde Inspires Guatemalan Visit
After reading in the November|December Alcalde that the UT had acquired a cool international property, Bobby and Risa Parker decided to check it out for themselves.
They visited Casa Herrera, Texas’ gorgeous Guatemalan research center, on Monday during a trip to Antigua. Immediately afterward, they us sent photos posing on the center’s red-tiled roof, with volcanoes in the distance.
Celebrated Mayanist David Stuart and research fellow Milady Casco personally conducted the Parkers’ tour.
“We had a great visit,” Bobby reports. “Both Mily and David were very helpful in showing us around and describing what the institution does. It’s a wonderful place, and we’re proud UT is involved.”
