Spots Still Open For Special Texas Exes Golf Tournament

Golfers at the UT Golf ClubHey, golfers. This year’s Texas Exes Golf Tournament benefiting the UT Heritage Society is not filled up yet. Want to play? You should!

For the first time, the winners of this year’s tournament will qualify to play in the Acura College Alumni Team National Championship in Pinehurst, N.C, in November.

Like always, the Texas Exes tournament is held at the UT Golf Club in Steiner Ranch near Lake Travis. If you’ve never played the UT Golf Club, your life is incomplete. It is among the finest golf courses in Texas, and it’s pretty effin’ hard.

Not to worry, though — you need not be Tom Kite to play. Though Tom, if you want to play, you’re welcome to!

Participants need to have played golf before and played well. This is no tournament for you all just graduating from your neighborhood Par-3. The max handicap is one shot per hole. Better work out that slice soon.

The tournament is on Sept. 27, the Monday after the UCLA game. It begins early — at 7 a.m. if you’re into eating breakfast — with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

Sign up here. All proceeds go to the Heritage Society, a group of alumni devoted to keeping alive the history and traditions of The University of Texas.

It’s cheaper, by the way, if you’re a member of the Texas Exes. (If you’re not, your life is definitely incomplete.) Sign up for that here.
