2011 Basketball Recruits Making Noise At National Camps (Watch)

Former Alcalde intern Blake Borron has a piece over on Examiner.com detailing two of the men’s basketball team’s commitments for 2011, Myck Kabongo and DeAndre Daniels.

Kabongo is a 6’2″ point guard from Canada who looks like the next coming of Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo. The kid is quick, smooth, and flashy, and he just won Most Outstanding Player honors from the Pangos All-American Camp in Long Beach, Calif. It will be interesting to see how his game translates to UT, and if he can slice his way through college defenses the way T.J. Ford could.

The other phenom is 6’8″ small forward Daniels. A long and lanky shot-blocker, Daniels looks like the next Kevin Durant and is a lethal perimeter shooter. That doesn’t mean he never throws it down, as evidenced by this YouTube highlight reel. What’s more, Daniels led his team to win the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp on Saturday and made the front page of the recruiting page on Rivals.com basketball section.

The future, it looks bright. Scope these videos and see for yourself. Go Horns!
