Bevo’s A Champ, Too

The men’s swimmers and divers aren’t the only ones who’ve taken home No. 1 lately.

Sunrise Studley, better known to us as Bevo XIV, was named Grand Champion Trophy Steer for the 2010 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

He traveled to Houston with his handlers, John T. and Betty Baker, and after winning the senior division — he is 8 years old, after all — he beat out the junior winner to be named Grand Champion.

Judges chose him based on his color, confirmation, and horns, and were impressed with his docile nature. 

As a celebri-steer, Bevo had 24-hour surveillance while at the show.
