Playing pool, kicking back with a beer, and … volunteering? It may be an unlikely pairing, but for the Texas Exes Corpus Christi Chapter, it made sense.
As part of the monthlong service initiative Texas Exes Care About the Project, the chapter participated in a charity pool tournament benefiting the Women’s Shelter of South Texas. They filled a pickup truck to the brim with practical donations, like socks and shampoo, for women at the shelter.
About 40 Longhorn friends and supporters turned out to Paradise Billiards on Feb. 29. Steve McMains, BA ’99, Life Member, made it to the final four in the pool tournament.
