Thou Shall Not Covet Thy Neighbor’s Conference Deal: Billboard

A billboard in Waco, home of Baylor University, has* a pointed new message on it: “Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s conference deal—God.”

The message, spotted by @jamesaydelott, comes as debate rages over the future of the Big 12 Conference.

Texas A&M University has said it plans to leave the conference and join the SEC. Baylor University, however, has threatened to sue if the Aggies follow through.

The Aggies blame their wanting to leave on the new Longhorn Network, even though Texas originally approached A&M about going in on the network together, an offer the Aggies declined.

This week we learned that someone from the Big 12 approached Arkansas about leaving the SEC to join the Big 12, but the Razorbacks aren’t interested, according to their athletic director.

It’s not immediately clear who exactly is behind the Waco billboard.
