UT freshman Jacob “Gator” Weaver has a talent for staring that has turned into a YouTube sensation.
“Stare of the Gator,” filmed by UT junior Pearce Murphy, shows Weaver approaching unsuspecting people on the UT campus only to stare at them, mouth agape. Since its upload on Tuesday, the video has garnered more than 72,000 views and appeared Thursday on the Huffington Post.
The 3-minute video was created for a talent show for the pledges of the Christian fraternity Beta Upsilon Chi, but staring is nothing new for Weaver.
He told the Daily Texan that he has been staring at people since high school, and that he plans to continue. Weaver said he may even create another video off-campus where people won’t recognize him.
“It is pretty awesome,” Weaver told the Texan. “All my family knows about it and everything, which is kind of weird.”
