London Alumni Host Olympics Pub Crawl

While most of us spent the 2012 London Olympic Games glued to the television, some London Texas Exes had front-row seats to the world’s largest sporting event.

The Texas Exes U.K. Chapter gathered on June 16 to practice the sport most familiar to college students and football fans: drinking. More than 100 alumni and friends visited five pubs and enjoyed a lively costume contest (the winners are pictured at left).

Chapter president Carra Kane, BS ’97, later attended several Olympics events. “It was fantastic being able to cheer for so many fellow Americans and specifically fellow Longhorns,” she says.

While a trio of synchronized swimmers took gold in the costume contest, the real winners were the chapter’s scholarship recipients: the pub crawl raised $500 for the scholarship fund.
