The proposed tuition increase was modest and vetted by the appropriate groups on campus. There was no good reason for the BOR to reject it, leaving politics as the only explanation, which begs the question: Who benefits from a tuition freeze when it is not the University? And since when does the UT BOR put other interests ahead of UT? The legislative oversight committee has its work cut out for it.
