Student Spreads UT Pride in China

Barret Howell is a senior at UT. He recently accompanied his grandfather, Dan Myers ’55, on a trip to China, where Myers lectured on a Chinese edition of his book, Biblical Parenting: A Child Psychiatrist’s View.

Howell was invited to teach several English classes at Henan Agricultural University in Zhengzhou, so naturally, he planned a lesson about The University of Texas.

For his “final exam,” students sang “The Eyes of Texas” and did the Hook ’em sign, Myers reports.

And his students went home with some great UT swag, including t-shirts and a giant foam hand.

“Barret was a crowd favorite and really enjoyed sharing his University of Texas experiences,” says Myers.
