Alum With Cerebral Palsy Premieres Show: Rollin’ With Zach

It was just 10 months ago that one of UT’s most lovable ex-students, Zach Anner, learned he would host his own travel series after competing on “Your Own Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star.”

Now his dream has come true. “Rollin’ With Zach” premiered last night on the Oprah Winfrey Network with two back-to-back episodes. The show follows Anner, who has cerebral palsy, as he travels across the U.S. breaking barriers for disabled travelers.

From speed dating in Chicago and performing stand-up in NYC to surfing in Los Angeles, Anner doesn’t let his disability or his wheelchair confine him.

The 27-year-old also a wicked sense of humor, especially at the expense of his cerebral palsy. Case in point: when he gets the chance to create his own milkshake in the first episodes, he names it “Zach Anner’s Handi-Cappucino Shake.”

That humor is what helped Anner’s audition tape for the show go viral in summer 2010.  From there, he went on to “own” eight other contestants, tying with Kristina Kuzmic-Crocco and landing his dream job.

You can check out a preview above and watch “Rollin’ With Zach” every Monday at 7 p.m. CST.
