The Texas Longhorns are 3-0 after beating the UCLA Bruins 49-20 Saturday at Texas’ favorite stadium, the Rose Bowl.

Between an explosive offense and a taught defense, the Horns put the hurt on the Bruins early and never let up.

No. 24/21 Texas notched 488 yards of total offense and forced four turnovers. Quarterback Case McCoy completed 12 of 15 passes for 168 and two touchdowns, both to tight end D.J. Grant, who caught a third touchdown from wide receiver Jaxon Shipley.

Running back Malcolm Brown carried the ball 22 times for 110 yards and a touchdown in his first start. Fellow running back Foswhitt Whittaker carried eight times for 63 yards and two touchdowns, including one for 36 yards.

Safety Kenny Vaccaro and linebacker Keenan Robinson posted a team-best nine tackles each, and Vaccaro added an interception. Defensive backs Adrian Phillips and Carrington Byndom added one interception each, and linebacker Emmanuel Acho registered a sack.

Texas converted its three first-half interceptions into touchdowns.
