Bevo’s Cable Provider Carries the Longhorn Network (Watch)

The Longhorn Network may not know what networks will carry it (request it today) but it definitely knows how to get the attention of Longhorn fans: feature Bevo.

In their new ad released today, Bevo stands calmly chewing grass while watching LHN on a flat screen in his trailer (he must have FiOs). An enthusiastic Silver Spur handler stands nearby.

On the day the Longhorn Network is set to launch, ESPN just announced a few more regional providers who will carry LHN, including Consolidated Communications, En-Touch Systems, E-Tex Communications, Bay City Cablevision, Mid-Coast Cablevision, and Texas Mid-Gulf Cablevision.

Don’t miss out on the Rice game just because your carrier doesn’t have LHN yet—come to the game!

Texas Exes members get a 40 percent discount on tickets, while supplies last, and members have access to a ticket exchange on gameday.

Even if you don’t get tickets, you can check out the biggest tailgate in Texas at the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center before the game (for Texas Exes members only) and during it (open to everyone) to be close to the action.

I have Dish net works and will not be able to see the game. Unless you can get other networks to carry the games (and not charging us for individual games) I don’t like what you have done for MONEY. You have forgotten ALL the alumni that can’t attend the games

  2. I DISAGREE. The LHN is the best idea yet for all alumni to watch ALL UT sporting events. The big networks will only pick up the more popular football and basketball games and that is a BIG ‘if’ they want to. The majors almost never pick up UT volleyball, baseball, track, swimming, diving, etc.

My understanding is that the LHN will broadcast (or rebroadcast) ALL UT ATHLETIC events – not to mention, pregame shows, press conferences and interviews with the coaches and players, post game shows, etc.

It may be slow getting off the ground, but once the cable & satellite companies get wind of the demand NATIONWIDE – it will be the greatest thing to hit the lockeroom since dry socks.

Demand nationwide? The only “Nationwide” demand is for alumni of Texas. Those who didn’t go to Texas have no desire for it. The reason the Big 10 network is successful is because it represents all teams in the conference, not the greed of one school so full of itself.

This network destroyed a conference and will assure Texas as an independent.
