Redskins, Former Longhorns Host Texas Exes At FedEx Field

Chili cook-offs, crawfish boils, mechanical bull-riding contests. Just when you think you’ve heard about the coolest local Texas Exes chapter events around the world, news arrives of another instant classic.

Last weekend, three former Longhorn football players and current Washington Redskins hosted some 180 members of the DC Chapter and their families on a private, behind-the-scenes tour of FedEx Field — right down to the locker rooms.

The guys — Derrick Dockery, Mike Williams, and Brian Orakpo — even wore burnt orange, answered questions, held babies, and signed autographs.

The event was so family-friendly, the guys even brought their own families (who also wore that certain coppery color).

From the looks of their pictures, everybody had a memorable time.

Sasha Evans, the chapter’s community service and outreach chair, was positively bubbling as she reported the results. “The Redskins have already agreed to make this an annual event,” she said. “I really believe it increased our support in the community!”
